FAQs

  • Why is the price different when I click through to a recycler's website?

This is not intentional. At Mobile Phone Recycling - Sell Your Mobile.info we do everything possible to ensure that the prices we compare are 100% accurate. However, sometimes technical errors occur that are beyond our control. We rely on each recycler featured on the site to supply their pricing information to us. We download this pricing data from each recycler every hour, 24 hours a day. Very occasionally a recycler will update their prices and have a technical issue which means the pricing data they send to us is not updated straight away. This is why there can on very rare occasions be a price difference. We have automated systems to detect this and as soon as we spot a discrepancy we contact the recycler to rectify the issue. Just to make it clear, if there is price difference, the price on the recycler website is the price you will get for your phone.

  • Where is my phone? I recently sent my phone to you and have not yet received the cash?

We are not the mobile phone recycling site you will have sold your phone to. We are the mobile phone recycling comparison site you used to find the most amount of cash for mobile phones you no longer need. We would recommend looking at your confirmation email which you would have received after confirming you will sell your mobile phone. You'll find contact information on the company who would receive your phone and you will then be able to contact them and ask what's happening with your mobile phone.

  • I would like to know how much my mobile phone is worth to a recycler.

The simplest way to find out how much your mobile phone is worth is by using the search box at the top of the page. Simple type in your make and model into the search box and press go. You'll then be able to view a comparison table and get all the prices for your mobile phone whether it's working or non-working.

  • My mobile phone is classed as non-working; will I still get cash for it?

Yes is the short answer! The majority of mobile phone recyclers featured on SellYourMobile.info will still pay for a broken or non-working handset. If you have a very old mobile phone which is broken you may find it isn't worth anything but you can still send it to a mobile phone recycler to be disposed of correctly.

To find the price for a non working phone you go about searching for your mobile phone in exactly the same way as you would normally. Once the comparison table has appeared you should then view the column which stated the price of non working mobile phones.

  • I think my phone is broken, what are the points of a non working phone?

    • A broken screen which has deep scratched, cracked or may be bleeding
    • It cannot be turned on or off
    • The microphone or speaker is not working
    • The aerial is broken

In basic terms if you can still use it properly it's in normal working order. If it is classed as a non-working order you can get up to 90% of the value of a working version.

  • I don't have the charger for the mobile phone I wish to recycle, can I still recycle it?

Yes! None of the mobile phone buyers require you to send the charger with the mobile phone you wish to recycle. Even if you do have the charger we wouldn't recommend sending it with the mobile phone as you will not receive any extra cash for sending it.

  • My postage bag hasn't arrived yet, how do I get another one sent?

If you haven't received your free post bag we would recommend giving the company you placed the order with a ring. You will find the contact information of the mobile phone recycling site you decided to sell your phone to on your confirmation email. Unfortunately due to the fact we are a comparison site and not a recycler we are unable to deal with this problem.

  • Can I still sell my mobile phone if it has been barred?

You are unable to sell your mobile phone if it has been barred. All phones in the UK which have been barred are then reported to the police as stolen and all mobile phone recycles are informed. When mobile phones are received by the recycling companies they will be checked again the list of barred phones and if one is received by the company it will be handed to the police without payment.

  • Do I have to pay to send my phone to the recycler?

Most mobile phone recyclers will not need you to pay for postage of your old mobile phone. Many companies will send a free post bag for your mobile phone. I would recommend checking whether the company you wish to send it to will need you to pay for the post and packaging. You'll find this information on our comparison table.

  • How can I be paid when I recycle my mobile phone?

The common methods of payment are-

    • PayPal
    • Postal Order
    • Bank Transfer
    • Cheque
    • Shopping Vouchers

Its then down to you to choose the method of payment which suits your requirements best.

  • I've been quoted a price, how long will it be valid for?

The majority of recyclers will keep their quoted price active for around 14 days but we would strongly recommend signing up for the price as soon as possible due to phone prices fluctuating a lot. If the quoted price expires you may get a very much lower price for your old mobile phone.

  • How many phones can I recycle?

Basically as many as you like but take note that one company may not offer the best price on all the mobile phones you wish to sell so take your time checking which company will offer the best price for all your mobile phones you wish to sell.

  • I have a mobile phone I wish to sell but cannot find it on your website, can I still sell it?

We're sorry but if the mobile phone you wish to sell isn't on our site then the mobile phone recyclers are not currently looking to purchase this make or model. I would advise you to keep an eye on the site though as you may find they wish to purchase it in the future.
