Win a 5 Star Holiday by Recycling Your Mobile to Envirofone

Envirofone Kenya Competition

  • New Envirofone Competition when you recycle your mobile!
  • Win a 5 Star Holiday!

Carbon offset the CO2 emmission of your mobile phone with Envirofone and you could win a 5 star holiday for 2 people in Kenya with “The Sands”. A carbon zero boutique hotel on the lapping shores of the Indian Ocean for 5 nights.

We have reviewed Envirofone as a mobile phone recycling site before and covered similar Envirofone competitions where you can win instant cash or things by simply just recycling an old mobile phone with them. Or where you can star in Envirofone’s TV advert by uploading a video to YouTube but Envirofone have teamed up with and are working in partnership with co2balance.com to offer people the chance to win an exclusive 5 star luxury holiday to Kenya!

To win all you have to do is recycle your mobile phone with Envirofone and click the option to “carbon offset” the CO2 of your mobile. If you win you’ll be flown from Manchester to Mombasa for 2 people and collected and transferred to your 5 Star Hotel for 5 nights with breakfasts to “The Sands” which is a carbon zero boutique hotel on the shores of the Indian Ocean. Where you’ll be able to relax around the pool or on the beach and feast on the international cuisine in the restaurant and be accompanied on a half day trip to view the first hand results of African offset projects in rural Kenya.

CO2 Balance

The CO2 carbon offset project funds projects all over the world that absorb or prevent the release of CO2 emissions and carbon dioxide such as by providing local families with energy efficient stoves to cook with.

To enter the Envirofone competition, all you have to do is offset the carbon footprint of your recycled mobile phone when you sell it to Envirofone by the 25th January 2010. You can offset the carbon while at the check out stage of the sales process when you register to sell and recycle your mobile.

Visit the current Envirofone Competitions page for more details and to enter the competition by recycling your mobile phone and “off setting your CO2 carbon output”.

Comparison Review Mopay Vs Fonebank

Mopay and Fonebank Comparison

Comparison and Review of Mopay and Fonebank

Mopay & Fonebank are 2 of the UK’s leading mobile phone recycling companies you can use to sell and recycle your old mobile phones to for cash. Both of them have their own great features and benefits. The best of which we will list here so you can make your mind up which one is best for you. We have reviewed both companies in previous posts.

As you will see both offer their own incentives for using them. And both have different features and benefits. But let’s see where they really compare against each other.

First off we’ll do a check using our mobile phone recycling comparison tool to see how much they are offering for a bunch of popular mobile phones to see which one pays the most money. We’ll do a comparison for a Nokia e65. A Nokia N70 and a Samsung U900 Soul.

Recycler
Samsung SoulSamsung
Soul

Nokia e65Nokia
e65

 Nokia N70Nokia
N70
Mopay £45 cash.
£54 Vouchers.
£31.20 cash.
£37.00 Vouchers.
£45 cash.
£54 Vouchers
Fonebank £42 cash. £34.00 cash. £34.00.

This is pretty much consistent for every mobile phone you check with. What we can devise here is that Mopay are paying more for mobiles than Fonebank and Mopay even pay out in Vouchers as well for Argos, Marks & Spencers, Arcadia (Can be used in many high-street shops, such as Topman and Topshop) and We7. (Music Downloads).

Payment Methods

Compared to Fonebank who only pay by cheque, Mopay not only offer more money for your mobile but also have a LOT more payment methods such as cheque, bank transfer and offline payment (Post Office. – You will be emailed a code which you can use to collect your payment from a nearby Post Office). You also have a choice of receiving Vouchers instead of cash and you will get a little extra on top as well. I think it’s fair to say Mopay slightly outshine Fonebank here! Did I mention you can also donate a percentage of your money to charity with Mopay as well?

Website Effort
Okay I have been on both the Mopay and Fonebank website many times testing them out and here is my conclusion. At the end of the day the website shouldn’t matter as much as the service but it is part and parcel. While both have a few different features on their sites compared to the other and despite Fonebank having a “Recommend a Friend” feature where you get £3 for Recommending a Friend. And a data removal tool. Mopay have a shop area where you can earn cash every time you buy something. Not just that but you can also get Cashback through Quidco with Mopay unlike Fonebank. Also Fonebank have a blog area and if you go on it there are some ‘ahem’ unsavoury links left by commenter’s that I think Fonebank should remove but they haven’t. Both sites have lots of information on them about how they work and what they do but for ease of use and simplicity Mopay get my vote for Website Effort. An independent study by online money-making advisory service moneymagpie.com rated Mopay as the most efficient and helpful mobile phone recycling service in the UK. Mopay has won a Webuser award for its user-friendly design and fantastic features.

Community Side
Why I take the Community Side into consideration when comparing these mobile phone recycling sites against each other I’m not entirely sure. But I guess it’s somewhat important. When any website that offers a service to the public has a user support forum it shows they having nothing to worry about. Neither do but both have contact pages and work with charities and small businesses and clubs in the community to recycle old mobile phones.

Speed of Service
I’ve spoken to people who have had 1st hand experience with selling their old mobile or mobiles to Fonebank and Mopay. Because Mopay have more payment option such as the email code where you can get it, print it off and take it to the Post Office you can get your money MUCH fast than waiting for a cheque. A lot of people prefer to do this actually. They normally send it on the day they receive and check your phone. So you can send Mopay a mobile on Monday and have the money for it in your hand by Tuesday.

Most Money Offered
Mopay. Enough said. Seriously, do I really need to write an explanation now? Oh okay.. Well Mopay are offering the most money for mobiles compared to Fonebank. And quite a bit more as well when you take into consideration they give Vouchers at about an extra 15% more.

Conclusion
I’m not trying to show favouritism to any site here but it’s clear to see if you want to get the most money for your mobile you should go with Mopay. I leave it up to you to decide but I know who I would choose.

Money For Your Phone or MFYP for short as is the abbreviation and their site name is a UK based mobile phone recycling site you can use to get money for your phone with. They purchase and recycle old mobile phones from you for cash.

Get Money For Your PhoneWhat they say “Money For Your Phone is a simple recycling service which allows you to receive up to £300 for recycling your mobile phone. We have made it very easy and straightforward for you to use our service and you can start by finding your phone here.”

It’s simple to get money for your mobile phone with MFYP. Just click on the Sell Now button and you can choose your make and model of phone. You can get money for it whether it’s a working or broken phone. Just add it to the basket on site. You will then need to input the phones IMEI number. And click to sign up and enter your details. MFYP will either pay you by Cheque or Direct Bank Transfer and you can choose that option here.

MFYP can be found at: MFYP, Regal House, Miall Street, Rochdale, Lancashire. OL11 1HY, United Kingdom. And contacted on 0161 870 6354 or by email @ info@mfyp.co.uk.

The MFYP mobile phone recycling site is nicely laid out and easy to use. They have a FAQ page with common questions and answers and an how it works page explaining a little about themselves which is what you would expect. They also have their own MFYP Facebook fan page that you can ask question on regarding selling your mobile to MFYP.

Why use MFYP?

  • MFYP give you the option of receiving a cheque or a direct bank transfer payment.
  • MFYP email you when they receive the phone, when it’s tested, and when they have sent your payment.
  • MFYP only require the handset and the battery but you can still send in chargers etc too.
  • MFYP accepts phones that are on any network.
  • MFYP will even accept broken mobile phones in exchange for money.
  • MFYP has some excellent feedback from previous customers.

You can read many testimonials left on the MFYP site from people who have used their service to sell and recycle their old mobile phones with for cash. MFYP offer VERY competitive prices for mobile phones and are giving other mobile phone recyclers a run for their money. MFYP are not checkable in our Mobile Phone Price Comparison tool as of yet but you can still check on their site and use the tool to compare how much they are offering so you can get the most money for your phone. I’ve checked with a series of different mobiles and found them to be offering around £5 more per time per mobile. MFYP are offering £50 for a Samsung F480 Tocco where are the top mobile recycler in the tool is offering only £47.25 for the same phone. And this is what people look for when wanting to sell their old mobile phone online this way to a mobile phone recycler.

So if you want to get as much money as you can for your mobile phone. Give MFYP a go. I have had 1st hand experience with the owner of the site and they are friendly and always willing to help. MFYP might not be as well known as most mobile phone recycling sites but the other big players need to watch out as long as MFYP are about and are offering the prices they are.

Visit the MFYP site and see how much money you can get for your mobile.

Envirofone vs Mazuma Mobile Recycling Comparison

Comparison Review Between Envirofone and Mazuma Mobile

Two Giant Mobile Phone Recyclers. Both have their own features & benefits. Both have different ways they can pay you for your mobile phone. Both are the same thing. But just how same are they?

Envirofone vs Mazuma Mobile

Envirofone & Mazuma Mobile are home branded name mobile phone recyclers in the UK. Both run their own TV, online and other advertising campaigns so you probably know of them or have used them to sell a mobile phone to in the past or are thinking of using one of them to sell a mobile to.

Questions

The real questions are. Which one pays the most for mobile phones? Which one has the best and fastest service? How do they pay? Well even though we have reviewed these 2 mobile phone recyclers before let’s now compare their differences again.

Payment Methods

Envirofone have 3 different payment methods; Cheque, Paypal or Argos credit on a Reward card which gives you an additional 10% and you can donate a percentage to a Charity.
MazumaMobile have 2 different methods but also pay either in Cheque or Argos Vouchers and you get an additional 10% more on top of the cash value.

They both have the same Argos incentive but credit to Envirofone for offering Paypal as an alternative payment method which many people might probably find useful as well as the ability to pay off your Carbon offset where you can offset your mobile phone’s contributed carbon emissions by investing in projects that absorb or prevent the release of carbon dioxide equivalent to the carbon footprint of your mobile phone.

Website Effort

Both the Envirofone and MazumaMobile website are well designed as you’d expect from such large companies. They are both easy to use when wanting to sell your mobile phone and both have lots of information regarding their companies and the recycling industry. MazumaMobile provide a Mobile Phone Deletion Tool to safely erase your personal date before selling your mobile. Envirofone have more ways to interact with them through their “Green Room”. But you don’t wanna hang around. Just sell your mobile and your done. Still useful though.

Community Side

Obviously it’s good for any online company to have ways that its users can contact them. Normally a user forum shows a company has nothing to hide. Not that that’s an issue with 2 such well established mobile phone recyclers like these. Although both do make an effort to reach out to and work with the community in many ways. Envirofone have their own The Green Room page that is packed full of as they put it “A place to hang out and read up on some interesting facts as well as the odd bargain. We’ve got really cool envirofacts, blogs, reviews, green special offers and advice” For Green Issues on the Environment, News Articles, Your Views to have your say, Phone Offers to compare phone contracts, Money Saving ideas at home, Green Offers, Co2 Matters, Competitions to enter and Media Center that has a game to play and more.

So it’s fair to give Envirofone the credit this time for Community Side for creating all of that.

Speed of Service
To be honest both have pretty much the same proven track record here. If you search the net and forums you’ll find posts by people who got their money paid promptly and the amount that was given and posts by people with different stories. But overall both are real genuine companies and try to provide a decent service to people. Because of how Envirofone have Paypal as a payment method it means many people normally get paid the next day they send their mobile in and that’s what matters next to the value given.

Most Money Offered

Based on a mid range priced mobile. Nokia e65.
Envirofone. Cash: £35.02. Vouchers: £38.52.
MazumaMobile Cash: £37.50. Vouchers: £41.25.
And this is pretty much the same for most low, mid and high price ranging mobile phones. But it’s clear to see that MazumaMobile are paying the most for mobile phones between the 2 recyclers.

So there we have a way of comparing the UK’s top mobile phone recycling sites so you can make an informed decision on which one is best for you based on how you want to get paid. If you want the most money and don’t mind waiting for a cheque choose Mazuma Mobile. Otherwise if you want a Paypal payment go with Envirofone for a fast 2 day payment.

Earthmobile proudly display their Waste Licence on their site which is a Certificate of Registration Under the Control of Pollution (Amendment Act 1989). They also follow a WEEE (Waste from Electric and Electronic Equipment) & ROHS (Restricting the use of Hazardous Substances) directive. But all you need to know is that just basically means they’re allowed to clean up. It’s all on their site anyway.

Earthmobile are a community based mobile phone recycling site as you would expect from a green company such as this and others like it. They have lots of info on their site about how they work with the community. They have recycling initiatives set up with Schools and provide them with drop-bins and freepost envelopes. They do the same for workplaces as well providing drop boxes, freepost recycling envelopes, poster and email campaigns to contribute towards protecting the environment.

Being such a giant in its games Earthmobile work with corporate companies and can arrange the collection of mobile phones, pick up a huge batch of them, check them all and then send you payment. Very useful for large companies that go through a lot of mobiles. They even go so far as to offer help and advice to anyone wanting to start their own mobile phone recycling initiative. You can contact them by email or telephone.

Earthmobile are keen to work with many types of charities in an opportunity to help the environment. They provide you with everything you need if you want to start a recycling campaign for your local charity shop. All in all a very good company but all you want to know is how much will you get for your phone right? Well you can check how much mobile phone recyclers are offering for certain makes and models of mobile phones by using our very own mobile phone value comparison tool in the sidebar to the right. Using that will enable you to compare websites to get the most cash for your mobile. However…. They are not yet in the sites that are compared. But you can still use it and then check on the Earthmobile site how much they are offering you for it manually. Earthmobile are not paying the most for mobile phones at the minute. Sell Old Phone are currently paying the most for mobile phones. However that is not the cash for Blackberry’s.

How to use the Earthmobile site

On going to the Earthmobile site you will see it has an environmental, recycling theme going on. They have all the things you’d expect to see on a mobile phone recycling site such as a How It Works section and Why Recycle etc. They also have other part of the site that explain things in greater detail than I have shared above. You can click around and read some of the things they say about themselves and mobile phone recycling and you are welcomed to do so before you decide to sell your mobile to them.

Earthmobile have their own mobile phone finder so you can simply search for your make and model right from the homepage by either choosing a manufacturer from a drop down list or clicking on an image logo for your make of mobile. Once you’ve found your phone you can select it in the list and it will display how much they are willing to pay you for it. It goes on to display what counts for a working and what counts for an un-working phone. You can click to add it to the basket or click to add multiple phones to the basket. Once you have done so it will go in your basket on the site and you can review the sale. If you are happy with the price, you will need to enter your phones IMEI number (*#06#) and then click next step. You will simply need to register now and provide your name and address details and agree to the terms & conditions.

Simply enter the details you need to enter and click to complete the sale. You should then receive a confirmation email with instructions on how to send the phone into Earthmobile. You are advised to send it in within 14 days else it may loose the value you were offered.

I haven’t submitted a phone myself but I believe the payment option to be cheque only as their terms state so and say nothing else of any other type of payment being available.

Earth mobile also have a “Remind You” feature where you can set a date for them to remind you for example say when your contract runs out.
