Mobile Phone Applications – Getting Better and Better

Upgrade to a new phone now to benefit from the new age mobile phone apps.

Mobile phone recycling is an excellent method to help environmental cause as well as to earn some handy cash for your new mobile phone. For those of you who have already bought a new mobile phone, the money earned from recycling of old phone can be used to pay off for new phone or towards increasing your bank balance a bit. The whole point is that opting for mobile phone recycling can earn you some easy cash and make available some new age apps as well.

It is no news that the coming age is going to belong to mobile phone applications. What more, now there is an app for waste disposal and recycling too. Known as My-Waste, the app is free to download for tablet and mobile phone users. The app sends out a gentle reminder to users about the time when they need to get rid of their unused, recyclable things. Although available only regionally as of now, it is hoped that the new app will soon catch up in the mobile world and will be available in other countries too.

At the moment, it is a Canada centric app that reminds Canadian citizens to put out their garbage or to go in for recycling. Though you’ll not be able to download this app right away in UK, there is no reason that you cannot benefit from mobile phone recycling. Recycling e-waste helps in keeping our environment clean and green as we avoid using landfills that way. Perhaps, one of you can build your own version of the My-Waste app and make it a revolutionary one for UK too.

Old Mobile Phones to get Cash

The last four years have seen a tremendous increase in popularity of the concept of receiving cash for old cell phones.

If you think recycling of old mobile phones is a new concept, well, it is not.  What is new however is the fact that people are selling it for hard cash and that has recently become very popular.  More and more publications have released online in the past two years which talk about how it works.  I am sure there are many customers like me who would like to obtain a little bit from the old phones, which initially cost so much.

Due to these consumer needs, companies such as sellyouroldmobile.info are willing to assist in meeting them.  They are now making it possible to sell mobile phones to company, which will not only refurbish and recycle, but also resell them if likely.  The customer is also paid to send in their mobile phone.  This process permits individuals to gain some extra cash for things, which are lying useless at home.

Many of us have at least 1 old handset that is not being used, if not two or may be more.  This happens because we have absolutely no clue on what can be done with the unused phones.  Nowadays it is very easy to simply turn in your old mobile phone and get some cash instead.  Only a little research is required to figure out the going rate for any old mobile on an appropriate website.

Pounds for an Old Mobile Phone

Due to the amount of money that one can make out of old mobile phones, the trading of such phones for cash has gained immense popularity in the last 4 years.

Though cell phone recycling is an old concept, but selling old phones for cash is just very recent and popular.  Only about four years back, this concept of cash against old mobile phones became popular online and the previous two years have witnessed an increasing number of guides being released online on how such a process works.  A majority of consumers like to obtain at least something for the mobile phone on which they once spent so much money.

To meet such needs of the consumers, many companies as a result are coming forward and sellyourmobile.info is one of them.  It is now possible to sell mobile phones to companies, which will take charge of refurbishing, recycling and reselling them if there is a possibility.  They even pay out money for sending in your old mobile.  This allows one to pick up some extra cash for unused items lying around at home.

A minimum of one handset, if not two or more, is what all of us must be having which is not being used at present.  The primary reason behind people stocking up old handsets is due to the fact that they just do not know what to do with it.  But now, it is much easier – just toss in your old cell phone for some cash after you complete your research on an online recycling site.

New Windows OS to bring about Mobile Phone Recycling

To be able to make use of the new platform on Windows phones, the mobile phone owners could be tempted to recycle their old phones.

One generally gets tempted towards cell phone recycling as one receives cash by turning in any old phone but a new development in the UK has got everyone excited which states that a new entry level Windows enabled phone will be launched in the UK.  We hope that more people will be motivated to recycle their old cell phones in order to get the new platform.  For the US and the UK, T Mobile and Nokia will be joining to bring the new platform in these countries.

So which phone is considered to be the ideal in our future’s smartphone wave?  It is the new Nokia Lumia 710.  As soon as the new platform is released in both US and the UK, the phones will be recycled much more in both the countries.

Nokia has recently made a statement that it will provide US with a 4G network, largest in the world.   For family and friends to be able to communicate easily, they have also introduced the People Hub features.  And that is not enough.  Many other applications and tools can be enjoyed such as the Netflix, T Mobile TV and a leading internet browser.  Nokia Lumia 710 will probably be one of the most popular mobile phones in 2012, as per Juniper Research, essentially due to the presence of the new operating platform Windows 8.

Clean up Your Mobile Phone Prior to Getting it Recycled

Please do not forget to remove any personal data before sending your mobile phone for recycling.

Mobile phones are normally loaded with extensive data and consist of critical information such as addresses, contact details etc. of our family and friends. We often leave other important data like text messages, email records, pin numbers etc. in our mobile phones. Unfortunately, a large number of UK residents do not remove all such data from their mobile phones before turning them in for recycling. If these phones land up in wrong hands, they can be used for illegal purposes. The contacts on your discarded mobile phone might receive calls from someone acting as you and get cheated. You could be in a bigger loss in case your phone has your bank and credit card details,

All individuals having a mobile phone must be warned before turning in their mobile phones for recycling. If they are unaware about the process of wiping off their data they must make it a point to speak to mobile phone providers about it and acquaint themselves with it. Merely deleting data from the old mobile phone doesn’t mean everything has been removed from the SIM card. Mobile phones that have a removable SIM card must be gotten rid of it before recycling. The SIM card must then be destroyed comprehensively so that no data on it can be stolen thereafter.

Help People in Need with Cell Phone Recycling

I am happy to see that people all around the world are contributing right now towards helping numerous charities.

The Middle East decided to save turtles, while the USA had its unique version of donations to charities using mobile phone recycling.  Australians too will soon be helping people in need.

Oxfam Australia has decided to use MobileMuster in order to donate close to 2000 chickens for the holiday season.  Each time two cell phones are recycled through Oxfam Unwrapped charity, people will be donating chickens.  In Australia, more than 19 million old and broken mobile phones are available which can be recycled.  Australia Oxfam is now hoping people will begin to notice, since it is for a good social cause.

You may not be staying in Australia, but you still can find ways to use cell phone recycling in your favour and help any of your chosen charities.  From the proceeds received from cell phone recycling, you could make your own donation and certainly help.  There is no dearth of families needing help during the holidays.

The proceeds obtained from cell phone recycling can be used to donate food or offered to charities which work towards saving animals and even helping sick people.  Irrespective of which time it is of the year, there always exist charities which require help and financial assistance.  What better time however to do it than now, when the upcoming holidays are on your and my mind too?

Clean Your Phone Completely before Recycling

For us as well as criminals, recycling of mobile phones is extremely lucrative.

I find it extremely disturbing that we have to cautious of criminals in order to protect our phones, wallets and even electronic devices while carrying them around. Dealing with criminals is very unfortunate indeed. Do not consider it as a surprise when you receive a warning reminding you to wipe your mobile phone clean before sending it for recycling.

It is worth noting that before sending any used mobile phone to a recycling centre, all the saved data on it including notes and contact numbers must be removed from the mobile phone. Even the SIM card, if present in the phone, must be removed, as it contains all the data that can be used by a criminal. Since all the mobile phones do not have a removable SIM card, it is even more important in such cases to wipe clean all data from them before they are turned in for recycling.

If you think that by selling the cell phone to any reputable recycling company you can prevent it from falling into wrong hands, then you are greatly mistaken. Companies these days take extra step by adding a new SIM card and refurbishing the old phones, basically to ensure that no data remains on the phone before it is resold. On an average, about 75 million phones are either upgraded or replaced within a year in the UK. So do not take a chance and delete all your data from the phone before recycling it.

Recycling Earns Special Perks for Mobile Phones

The entire world is catching up with mobile phone recycling and so should you.

An old saying in the form of a question is, “Would you take that jump off the bridge only because your friend did it as well?” Although the answer to this question would most often be a NO, however, you might want to go with a YES in the context of this article. As reported by an Australian news channel recently, mobile recycling is very beneficial regardless of your identity or place of residence. You might be living in the United Kingdom, but it is worthwhile to note that Australia despite having more unpopulated areas in comparison to UK, has around 345 million battery purchases happening every year, with around 1.8 million of those being car batteries. This implies that a great number of these batteries are meant for mobile phones.

Any type of battery including the one meant for mobile phone is dangerous for our environment. If these batteries are not disposed off properly, they can contaminate the earth with their toxic chemicals and thereby causing harm to our health directly as well as indirectly. As there are billions of mobile phone users throughout the world, improper disposal of mobile phone batteries can contribute significantly to the destruction of earth in the long run.

Recycling of mobile phones is highly beneficial as it is environment friendly and can also earn the user some handsome incentive. The return on each mobile phone differs from model to model and the condition of the old mobile phone.

Mobile Phone Recycling: Donation

Companies are making maximum effort to entice as many people and encourage them to recycle their mobile phones.

Even a company from North America recently announced a promotion for recycling of old mobile phones, wherein the American Diabetes charity or the JDFR will receive a donation.  Every phone that is recycled between 14th November and 23rd November will help in earning a donation to American Diabetes charity.  For those who do not know about this organization, it is a charity on Juvenile Diabetes which aims at making many people aware of what could cause the disease along with the remedies for managing it.

Such a move by the American company only goes to show that many companies these days are showing great interest in helping ensure that maximum mobile phones undergo recycling so that the environment can be protected and others are helped too.  Though the promotion and charity are being carried out in the USA, even the UK citizens will be offered various opportunities to give back to the community through options of mobile phone recycling.  Mainly, turning in any old mobile phone will mean that it does not end up in dumps and landfills, effectively ensuring that someone who might need it gets to use it.

Cell phones undoubtedly are extremely important for various reasons to different people.  Children may use it in emergencies to contact their parents.  Even the parents can get in touch with their children should a need arise.  Affordable and even recycled mobile phones can make a lot of a difference to families which cannot afford new cell phones.

Which are the Most Traded-in Mobile Phones?

The recent iPhone 4S launch has somewhat prompted a large number of people to opt for phone recycling.

Servers all over the world have been inundated with queries related to mobile phone recycling and the latest iPhone 4S. What is even more interesting is that these queries are coming from places where the maximum number of Android and Blackberry phones are getting recycled in exchange of new Apple iPhone 4S.

A jump of around 72% was witnessed in the amount of old mobiles being traded in. Such trade-ins are about getting an old mobile phone recycled in exchange of a small discount towards the purchase of new iPhone. As Apple had predicted, the public response to the new iPhone 4S has been nothing short of phenomenal. People across all mobile phone brands are hoping that this will trigger a trend of mobile phone recycling towards the purchase of newer models by the general public.

As the majority of mobile phones that are being traded in for the new iPhone are Androids and BlackBerrys, it reasserts the popularity of iPhone in comparison to other models. Experts call this phenomenon, the ‘iPhone Effect’ that happens every time a new iPhone is launched in the marketplace.

Although millions of old phones are turned in for the latest models, there are still many millions of people who can’t do this too. These people opt to shop for older models of popular smart phones like Apple iPhone in order to buy a better phone than their current one. On the whole, it is a win-win situation for all.
