Selling Unwanted Christmas Presents

Selling Unwanted Christmas Presents for Cash

So Christmas 2009 has come and gone and many people up and down the country have recieved Christmas presents from their close and beloved. Such things as the latest Games Consoles like the Sony Playstation PS3 Slim or the Xbox360. As well as a whole myriad of technological gadgets including Mobile Phones! And with that there will inevitably be millions of people all over that will have older versions of Games and Games Consoles and Mobile Phones that have now become, well, spare items.

And millions of people will wanting to do something with these types of gadgets as well. It is expected so because of the huge rise in mobile phone recycling over the past year or so in the UK. Along with all the other types of electrical items being recycled now. Either for incentive such as cash or gift vouchers to recycling old things to help the environment.

Well if you fall into this category of people and are looking for a way to sell and recycle your old mobile phone or other electrical gadget you will learn how to do so here. There are many things you can recycle online now for cash. We have covered many ways to sell and recycle many things for cash or more. You can of course sell your items in another way such as on eBay or Amazon or even by using any other type of freeads board or online auction site. But we are based on advising you on using recycling mobile phone recycling based sites. Because these types of sites are set up under governmental instruction to safely dispose of and or recycle electrical items in an environmentally friendly way. And to give people such as you a place to do so.

Anyway I realise you don’t really come here to read all day so I’ll break it down for you. Recently we have undergone a template change here at the Sell Your Mobile site. The Future of Mobile Phone Recycling

Mobile Phone Recycling or the recycling of mobile phones and other such electrical devices, gadgets etc have become much more mainstream now as companies create ways for people to go about doing this more than ever before. There are now more Mobile Phone Recycling sites online you can use to recycle and sell your mobile phone for cash to. We have listed, covered in review and cross compared these sites here before in other posts to help people make the right choice when going about using such a scheme or service. To safely sell and recycle old mobile phones and electrical products for cash. The most cash.

We have wrote reviews of mobile phone recycling sites and Compared them against each other listing how each one works and the various payment methods they offer. Along with provide the “Mobile Phone Recycling Price Comparison Tool” above which scans the current prices offered for mobile phones. Saving you time and effort and ensuring you also get the most money for your old mobile.

We’ve also covered many other aspects of recycling mobile phones and the sites you can use to recycle other things with for cash also. Such as the recycling of old CD’s and DVD’s. Or Games and Games Consoles. iPods, MP3 players. All recyclable for cash.

Paying more money than auction sites!

It’s true some sites will give you more money for your mobile than you could get for it at auction on somewhere like eBay. When you take into account the postage and listing fees etc. It’s free to use a mobile phone recycling service as all have a free-post service. And you can get your money much fast in some cases or still through Paypal with some.

Mobile Phone Recycling sites offer these payment incentives if you recycle your old mobile phone with them. They often compete with each other on the amount they pay per specific make and model of mobile. It’s always best to compare the prices mobiles recyclers offer using the Price Comparison Tool above. Listing nearly Every Mobile Phone Recycling Site. See how each one differs from the rest once you know which one is paying the most money.

All this was started from a something very small. And despite mobile recycling being the highest in the UK compared to the rest of Europe or the US. It started in the US but is rapidly expanding now more to other European countries like Spain, France, Australia etc. Even big names like Nokia themselves are producing schemes to help people recycle their old products. And your own local charity store may be running their own recycling initiative. All under instruction from the Government which falls in line with new legislation that stats it illegal to throw away electrical products and must be recycled under the WEEE recycling and disposable standards.

It is hoped that it will have a helping effect on and lessen damage to the Environment. As you may or may not know. Discarded mobile phones that end up in landfill can have a detrimental effect on plants and wildlife for many years to come. They contain harmful and potentially toxic materials that can contaminate the earth and water supply. Even though they are scientifically treated to contain such leakages it would still cost us a huge amount of money to treat. Coincidentally this would mean an increase in prices for our safe drinking water too.

That aside, there has been an increase in people actually recycling mobiles now. Be it because of awareness raised on TV, the radio or in magazine and the papers or word of mouth. That an abundance of old mobile phones stacked up around the country in peoples drawers etc. Yet it is not fully known what part of the curve that we are on. Only time will tell how long all of these Mobile Phone Recycling sites will be needed and will last. I think for a few years to come yet.

As far as they are we hope to list the good from the bad. The best of the best and ensure you benefit when wanting to recycle your mobile or product. And help the Environment too!

See our pillar post for more info and for The Best Way To Sell Your Mobile Phone. Along with a full list of all the mobile recyclers we’ve reviewed and compared. And our Top Posts here that will help you to get the best deal and most money for your mobile phone recycled.

The Best Way To Sell Your Mobile Phone

The site to Sell Your Mobile An overview and Description

We have tried to raise awareness to people in creating this site on mobile phone recycling and be a place for people to come to, to get questions answered they may have when it comes to recycling mobile phones. It was hoped that calling it sell your mobile that people would find it first before actually just using the first mobile phone recycling site that came up in the search results to sell and recycle their old mobile phone.

This was something I done when I first wanted to sell my old mobile phone online and searched online for something similar and used one of the first mobile phone recycling sites that came up in the search list because I already knew of the one I used. I sold and recycled my mobile phone with them and got paid eventually in the same week but it was then that I found out that I could have got a lot more money for my mobile if I had sold it to another site instead. I also found out that another site was offering even more money for it if I took Gift Vouchers as payment instead at an additional 20%. Which would have been perfect for me because I was selling the phone to raise funds for something from Argos anyway.

So it was that, that inspired me to create Sell Your Mobile here. To write reviews of the mobile phone recycling sites. To compare them against each other and highlight where they are different. So people would know which one is best for them and to help you get the most money for your mobile phone. To also blog about any other mobile phone recycling site information that has been going on since mobile phone recycling started and to create awareness of it. There were a lot of people that didn’t know they could even recycle their old mobile phone still about a year ago. While pretty much everyone does now there are still people who don’t and many people that have many mobile phones to recycle. People just like me and you who search online to see how they can sell or recycle it. Who go to use one of the mobile recyclers without knowing about which ones there are or are best for them. So they, us, you would get the most money for your mobile.

So we have wrote reviews and comparisons of mobile phone recycling sites here. Wrote about the actual company and their website and how to use them. Listing the various payment methods or features and benefits of each. Giving an honest opinion on them and even rated them as well. All so you can really make the best choice and get the most money for your mobile phone.

An Overview of our main posts here.

Review of Royal Mails Simply Drop Service

Royal Mail Simply Dropâ„¢ Review

Review of mobile phone recycling service Simply Dropâ„¢

Well the Royal mail have officially jumped on the bandwagon and have launched their own mobile phone recycling service and website that you can use to recycle your old mobile phones and more to for cash! Here is the lowdown and review.

Simply Dropâ„¢ – The Queen’s mobile phone recycling service!

Royal Mail Simply Drop

With Simply Dropâ„¢ you can get cash for recycling Mobile Phones, Digital Cameras or Inkjet Cartridge toners and Apple iPod’s or other MP3 Players. Simply Drop have a very extensive list of iPods they list that they accept and recycle for cash from you. And the same applies for Digital Cameras from companies like Archos, Creative, Dell, iitronics, iRiver, Phillips, Samsung, Samdisk, Sony, Zen and more. And Digial Camera manufacturers from Canon to Fuji to Kodak to Nikon to Polaroid to Sony and more.

So what you say? Well this adds more sites to the list you can use to sell and recycle all these types of things with for cash. It adds another recycler that are price comparable by using our Mobile Phone Recyling Price Comparison Tool above. Make sure you use it to search for your mobile phone model first and see the prices that Simply Dropâ„¢ offer compared to the other mobile phone recycling sites. You’ll see they are offering some very high prices. This is because they are new on the block and want to stay on top of the competition. A lot of people are going with Simply Dropâ„¢ because of these prices offered and that they feel secure it being directly a Royal Mail company. And not just for mobile phones either!

What they say? “Simply Dropâ„¢ is a new scheme from Royal Mail to encourage consumers to recycle unwanted mobile phones. Simply Drop, a Royal Mail initiative in partnership with Recycle for London, allows consumers to recycle their unwanted mobiles in exchange for cash or a charity donation to one of five charities, including Barnardo’s, Royal Mail’s chosen charity. To recycle an item with the new Simply Drop scheme, consumers need to visit Simply Drop, select the make and model of their handset from a drop-down menu, and a value will be given. A prepaid, degradable bag will be then be issued to the individual for safe postage of their item. Bags can also be dropped off at any London Post Office branch. Alternatively, Londoners can look out for one of the 3.1 million Simply Drop bags being delivered to households in the capital. “

Okay so being Royal Mail this is as you’d expect then the Queen’s mobile phone recycling service. As such you can expect people to go with them. Especially when it comes to how much they are willing to pay for used or broken mobile phones and electrical products. At the end of the day that’s all it comes down to, how much money is being offered. But people do take these other things into consideration. It’s probably why, coupled with that it’s run in conjunction with “Recycle for London” that it’s doing so well so far. That and as said it being a site you can compare using our Price Comparison Tool above.

Why use Royal Mails Simply Dropâ„¢? To recycle your mobile phone or old MP3 players or Apple iPods. Digital Cameras or Ink Toners for cash. To help the Environment of London as well. It’s estimated people replace their mobile every 12 – 18 months, leaving up to 100 million going left unused in the UK. If discarded to landfill it can have detrimental effects for future generations and can leak poisonous chemicals into the earth for thousands of years.

How to use Simply Dropâ„¢? Depending on what you want to sell and recycle. Your Mobile / iPhone /BlackBerry. MP3 Player / iPod or Digital Camera. Just visit the Simply Drop site for a simple intuative design. Choose what you want to recycle from the drop down list and narrow it down to the make and model. Select working or non-working and click on ‘Preview’ for the price offered. Then simply click ‘Add now’ to add it to a basket. Click on ‘Next’ to request your free Envelope. You can add more bags if you want but simply click ‘Next’ again to fill in your Name & Address details. From here you can view the Terms & Conditions which we advise you to do. They are, as you might imagine being Royal Mail, quite well laid out and pretty much cover everything. You could get away with not reading them but it’s always best to have a quick skim at least.

When you’re done filling in your details and have ticked the T&C’s. Click ‘Next’ again to choose how you want to recieve your payment. Simply Dropâ„¢ have about 4 methods. Via a PayPal payment or receive a text message take it to the post office to collect cash. Or a Postal Order sent through the mail. Or you can donate cash to 1 of five Charities. Only all of it though and not a certain percentage of it unlike Envirofone and Mazuma Mobile allow you to do. I feel more people would donate if they could donate anything from 1-100% of the cash. Right??

Once you’ve decided and clicked ‘Next’ to continue you’ll see a page explaining when and how they’ll pay you and be given a confirmation number. Simply Dropâ„¢ will mail you a Free Post envelope. It’s important that you write that number on your Simply Dropâ„¢ envelope that contains your devices. You will will also recieve a confirmation email of this as well. From here make sure you check out their ‘How Do I Send?’ page for more important information about sending in your things to them.

So what happens now? Simply Dropâ„¢ will mail you the Free Post envelope. Simply place your gadgets inside and send them back to them through the normal post. You can insure it if you want. And in fact. It is advisable to do so and use Recorded Delivery for the more expensive things. You can track your items on the Royal Mail site using your reference number. Simply Dropâ„¢ don’t charge for postage, handling or any transaction fees, but if your device(s) are of value, they recommend you take the extra step of paying to track and insure your package using Special Delivery guaranteed service, available at all Post Offices®. However you should be alright. You are dealing with Royal Mail after all, right?

Overal the whole process to sell your mobile to Simply Dropâ„¢ is very easy. And they are being used more and more I’m noticing by people through our Price Comparison Tool above. Probably because of the prices they are paying and that, again, they are Royal Mail so people trust them.

So how to use Phone Recycle Bank to sell and recycle your mobile phone?

In this case. I am going to recycle my broken Nokia e65 mobile phone for real with Phone Recycle Bank. They’re offering about £20 quid for it so I’m happy with that and I want to test out their services for myself anyway.

Sell, trade in or recycle your mobile phone for cash

The process is quite an easy 3 step process like they say. On going to the www.PhoneRecycleBank.com website for the first time you might find it looks fairly similar to some of the other top mobile phone recycling sites. This I believe is because they are using the same sort of template which is specifically made for these types of sites. You can see how to use the site and there is a 3 step process displayed showing what the basics are to using them. All you have to do to get started is to search for the make and model of mobile phone you are selling. You can either type the phones model into the search field shown or search by selecting a make and then search for your model in the list. However it’s probably best to just search for your model this way as an extensive list of pages will be shown and you’ll be scrolling forever.

Once you have found your phone click on it to choose whether it’s a working or non-working phone. You will be shown a price for each. Click on if it’s working or non-working. You will then need to enter the phones IMEI number. (Dial *#06# or look on the back of phone inside, under battery) The next page that then displays will show the phone you are selling and give you a choice of how you want to be paid and choice of postage method.

Currently www.PhoneRecycleBank.com only pay by Cheque by post for your mobile and offer 3 different ways to send in your mobile to them. And there is the Courier service that costs £8.00. (Unless you are selling 10 or more phones). Which is deducted from the price you get for your mobile. As you click on each option the price will change and be shown as “We’ll pay you £x.xx in 7 days time”.
