I read recent reports about apps related to Smartphones containing viruses. It surely shook me, as until now, one used to think that only laptops and computers were susceptible to this risk. However, it is not only computers and laptops these days, one also must be careful about their smartphones and tablet PCs when we are downloading applications. Since cell phones are virus-ridden and you feel it is risky to engage in cell phone recycling continually, then you must consider using some virus applications created by top virus protection companies. As far as fraudsters are concerned, they have an upper edge with their malware and can harm data on any platform. You can play safe by taking steps to ensure that your phone stays away from such viruses by recycling only those old phones which have crossed their prime usage years.

Moreover, you should also choose the right company to buy your second hand phones from. Any company which isn’t trustworthy can easily set up malware on platforms. The virus has the potential to steal information from one in ten phones which contain vital information even after being discarded. However, one should not be deterred from recycling old cell phones just because of this underlying threat. In fact, when your phone undergoes the complete recycling process, everything in it gets scrapped except the rare metals, so it indeed is safer to recycle. As an additional measure, trust only the direct app companies to download any applications rather than any new unfamiliar websites.

This does not look anything less than a cell phone race taking place in the market these days. Apple and Samsung are fighting for the topmost manufacturer place in the UK market.

This does not look anything less than a cell phone race taking place in the market these days. Apple and Samsung are fighting for the topmost manufacturer place in the UK market. A recent survey revealed that around 50 per cent of market share is held between Samsung and Apple. The two collectively hold 53.3 per cent share in the total market.

What is even more interesting about these two competitors is the way they engage in cell phone recycling. The launch of Apple 4S created a tremendous change wherein people started recycling their cell phones at the plants located in and around the UK. What entered the recycled electronics market were the old Apple iPhones along with many other brands including Blackberry. Samsung apparently did not rank high amongst the list of recycled mobile phones. Samsung’s market share undoubtedly is high considering the number of Samsung phones that UK residents currently possess. This change will result in more Samsungs queuing up for the recycling centres in the coming year or so.

Another thought has been associated recently with the Samsung phones. It is to do with either the type of users or the technology of these phones that one does not feel the need to upgrade them constantly. It could be that the owner is content with waiting till his Samsung phone becomes completely dead before he moves to a new mobile. One can only wait and watch if Samsung soon moves higher in the list of recycled phones.

The first-quarter sales of the iPhone 4S have helped Apple improve significantly on its sales figures compared to last year.

The first-quarter sales of the iPhone 4S have helped Apple improve significantly on its sales figures compared to last year. The statistics revealed that first three months sales of Apple iPhone were around £7.2 billion. Apple has managed to sell around 35 million units of mobile phones in the three-month period of January to March, especially because of its iPhone 4S sales. This spike in sales was also contributed majorly by the iPad 3 sales figures. From how things have gone in the first quarter, it is quite clear that Apple is all set to have a strong year. This also means a strong year for mobile phone recycling.
Mobile phone recycling companies have revealed that the older models of iPhones are one of the most recycled phones nowadays. Most of the iPhones turned in for recycling are the first and second iPhone editions, and quite a few iPhone 4 models (the predecessor of iPhone 4S) as well. This comes as great news for people who cannot afford a new iPhone. With the help of mobile phone recycling, these people can purchase the used iPhone 4 models, after these have passed the quality assurance procedures. Such resale of old models of iPhones gives mobile phone recycling companies an opportunity to make some money and a large number of consumers a fair chance to own a high-end mobile phone. Even though iPhone 4 is not the most recent one in the iPhone series, it is still an excellent mobile phone to have.

If there is more than one old mobile phone at your home, I can probably guess the reason why. You too seem to be from the group of individuals who does not want to lose images taken from another phone and therefore, have retained few old phones in your drawers for just that very purpose. If I guessed it right and you are one of those, you need not fear. There is a very simple solution to eliminate this problem and will even reward you for your efforts.

First things first, if a device is not available handy, you may go to your local cell phone store to help transfer all old data from your phone to the new mobile. This works if your phone is an older model, however one can even use memory cards to store the data or make use of USB cords for cell phones apart from many other options available to download pictures to the computer. Once the download is completed, all data can be dumped and erased by resetting your mobile phone. You will need to be absolutely sure that none of your personal information remains on the old mobile.

Now you are ready to turn in your old mobile phones for recycling and earning some profit. You can even earn up to £200 for an old phone, depending upon the model and its working condition. You will receive more funds for recycling if the condition is better.

What a novel idea that some of the Japanese students have come up with! They have decided to use cell phone recycling as a means to rebuild and renovate their school from the damage it suffered in last year’s earthquake. These students have been going around not only collecting old cell phones from landfills as well as recycling centres, but are also turning them into recycling places which fetch them some cash through mobile phone recycling.

Initiatives such as these make you stop and think for a while on what all one can do for his/ her country or even a charity of one’s choice. If you possess any old cell phones which are just lying around gathering dust, then you certainly can help someone in need. Just log on to your desktop, go online and look for cell phone recycling websites which offer a good sum for your old cell phone. Forget about the rest of the work – the company will handle it all by offering you the funds your old phone is worth!

From here, one simply takes the cheque and hands it over to the person, charity or the country which one considers as most worthy or most in need. It is not difficult at all! You too can begin your own campaign similar to the one mentioned above by asking people for their old cell phones, taking them to cell phone recycling centres and passing on the received funds to any of your favourite charities.

Consumers may now be realizing the benefits of cell phone recycling and that is why we are seeing tough competition between various recyclers at the moment.

Consumers may now be realizing the benefits of cell phone recycling and that is why we are seeing tough competition between various recyclers at the moment. One of the important developments as far as mobile phone recycling is concerned is that many consumers are now beginning to search for those places where recycling old devices fetches them little money.

Well, who wouldn’t mind getting even a bit of extra money coming from any source? Not just that, it could also be the immense value that people have now understood about the components of these phones and how recycling cell phones helps in protecting our planet. We all must know by now that the precious metals contained in these phones can be used to make many new devices instead of allowing them to be lost or even worse, polluting our water and air. Irrespective of the reason behind the increased popularity of cell phone recycling, it is an exceptionally good thing.

Frankly, more than just mobile phones can be recycled. Other mobile devices such as old iPads too can be recycled. The recycling companies basically want to check if the recycled old devices can be resold to someone else who is happy taking a second hand product at a far more reasonable price. Factors such as preserving the precious metals and contributing to a greener planet are of course evident when we pledge to recycle our iPhones and iPads. Needless to say, any kind of electronic recycling, including of mobile phones, helps earn some extra cash.

Recently, it was observed that huge amounts of silver, gold, nickel, palladium among other precious metals have been used in the electronic devices we own.

Recently, it was observed that huge amounts of silver, gold, nickel, palladium among other precious metals have been used in the electronic devices we own. Mobile phones too contain some of the precious elements on earth. Countries such as Korea and Japan are running out of these scarce materials which are required to manufacture new models of cell phones and other electronics. If extreme steps such as cell phone recycling are not taken seriously, there is no way we can get out precious metals back.

A survey was recently conducted by the government wherein around 100 million cell phones will be carrying roughly 1,500 kg gold. This also implies that if 100 million mobiles are trashed away in landfills, then 1,500 kg gold is straight away lost. Well, this loss is insignificant if compared to the ill-effects it has on our environment. The lithium batteries and other parts contained in the electronic devices, including mobile phones, are extremely harmful to our planet.

The need for gold these days in the market to make new electronic devices, coupled with the ever increasing harmful impact to the environment on throwing them into the landfills, makes it even more important for us to recycle our old mobile phones.

For this good deed, you are offered a small profit in return. In order to recoup cell phones, companies are offering a good price for those and use these phones in working condition as a way to help others in getting a handset at an affordable price.

Plenty of precious and rare metals are getting lost as mobile phones are being discarded in large numbers in waste bins.

Plenty of precious and rare metals are getting lost as mobile phones are being discarded in large numbers in waste bins. People are reluctant to engage in mobile phone recycling. All this is having a serious repercussion on our environment and the planet.

It is high time that the government takes strong decisions and relooks at the quantum of metals being wasted and thrown away. Gold and cobalt are some of the earth metals which are used in various mobile devices. Mobile phones, headphones, batteries, laptops, televisions and mobile phones are just some of the devices which use scarce earth elements, yet people do not realize the seriousness and continue throwing them out. Have we ever thought about the taking advantage of excellent schemes such as cell phone recycling?

Recent estimates state that between 2012 and 2020, electronic waste to the capacity of 12 million tonnes will make its way into the landfills and a quarter of that will be nothing but IT equipment containing 17 tonnes of iridium and 63 tonnes of palladium. If these amounts are translated into their worth at the current market prices, then iridium will be worth 380 million pounds and palladium will be worth a billion pounds. Unless supply increases, chances are high that these elements will cost much more in the years to come.

Cell phone recycling is certainly not about the cash lost. We are only digging a grave for ourselves by stripping the earth of these rare metals right now. What will happen to the new generation iPad if these metals are gone?

Better late than never! It seems that people are now finally beginning to realize the numerous benefits of cell phone recycling.

Better late than never! It seems that people are now finally beginning to realize the numerous benefits of cell phone recycling. Recent months have seen an increasing number of individuals taking the initiative and engaging in mobile phone recycling. It is indeed pleasant to see that children in various schools too are collecting mobile phones for the purpose of recycling. They are gathering the old phones and doing collective recycling either online or through a chosen centre. Other children are solely ensuring that maximum people are aware of cell phone recycling, its benefits and its ability to collect funds by just taking out some time to recycle old phones.

Cell phone recycling is also an excellent thing to engage in, every time you choose to buy a new phone for yourself or your family. Since it is very easy to find a location online and send your old phone, one cannot make excuses to avoid recycling especially when there is a growing awareness on how much damage old electronics do to our planet.

Mobile phones contain certain rare elements which we desperately require to continue manufacturing electronics. Electronics containing batteries and touch screens are even more risky as they harm the fresh water system and the earth. If recycling of these parts is not done properly, our earth could be in bigger danger.

Recycling of mobile phones is very easy. Once you have an old phone, see its worth online and turn in to the recycling centre and get funds in turn.

Have you heard about the recent suggestion being discussed about mobile phones carrying a deposit just like the bottles?

Have you heard about the recent suggestion being discussed about mobile phones carrying a deposit just like the bottles? A few experts in Germany feel that imposing of a deposit on mobile phones just like on a ‘bottle’ will make people more inclined towards recycling them when they wish to purchase a new cell phone.

The suggestion is extremely workable to generate greater interest in cell phone recycling, which at the moment serves great advantages. The proposal in Germany aims to make the mobile phone cost only 10 Euros if a deposit is kept. Now in the market, if you have an older model Apple iPhone which still works and you send it for recycling, you could easily get more than £50 for cell phone recycling.

I must admit that cell phone recycling will prove to be more lucrative if you turn in the old cell phone when it has value in the market still. If you are able to recycle mobile phones in a resale process, it will fetch you more value and you will be able to earn more for recycling it. A phone which does not work goes for recycling only to separate its components and gets the owner only a few pounds.

You must take advantage of cell phone recycling when your mobile phone is still in a good and working condition. The decent sum of money that you will receive from recycling it can be used to pay towards purchasing a new phone. Isn’t this concept far better than the one about ‘bottle’ deposit?
