Envirofone have 3 different payment methods; Cheque, Paypal or Argos credit on a Reward card which gives you an additional 10% and you can donate a percentage to a Charity.
MazumaMobile have 2 different methods but also pay either in Cheque or Argos Vouchers and you get an additional 10% more on top of the cash value.

Both the Envirofone and MazumaMobile website are well designed as you’d expect from such large companies. They are both easy to use when wanting to sell your mobile phone and both have lots of information regarding their companies and the recycling industry. MazumaMobile provide a Mobile Phone Deletion Tool to safely erase your personal date before selling your mobile. Envirofone have more ways to interact with them through their “Green Room”. But you don’t wanna hang around. Just sell your mobile and your done. Still useful though.

Community Side

Obviously it’s good for any online company to have ways that its users can contact them. Normally a user forum shows a company has nothing to hide. Not that that’s an issue with 2 such well established mobile phone recyclers like these. Although both do make an effort to reach out to and work with the community in many ways. To be honest both have pretty much the same proven track record here. I believe Sell Old Phone was running before their sister site SellOldMobile was. Both sites appear to use the same layout and database of mobile phones. Even though prices offered vary. But what I like is the no fuss side to them. Unlike some recyclers who have flashy, browser heavy websites these 2 have been kept simple and easy to use. All the details you need to know our on their sites.

Community Side
SellOldPhone or SellOldMobile both don’t have forums or a blog that they run. But as far as liaisoning with their customers goes they are spot on. I have had 1st hand experience with dealing with them and find them to be very friendly and easy to talk to. They are always willing to sort out any problems that may arise and make sure you are happy with them.

Speed of Service
As both websites are run and maintained by the same people and use the same sorting warehouse the speed of service is the same for both. Both SellOldPhone and SellOldMobile normally send you your payment the day they receive and check your phone. You can send a mobile in to arrive on a Monday and have a cheque sitting in your hand by the following Wednesday.

Most Money Offered
After comparing both sites for different mobile phones. Earthmobile proudly display their Waste Licence on their site which is a Certificate of Registration Under the Control of Pollution (Amendment Act 1989). They also follow a WEEE (Waste from Electric and Electronic Equipment) & ROHS (Restricting the use of Hazardous Substances) directive. But all you need to know is that just basically means they’re allowed to clean up. It’s all on their site anyway.

Earthmobile are a community based mobile phone recycling site as you would expect from a green company such as this and others like it. They have lots of info on their site about how they work with the community. They have recycling initiatives set up with Schools and provide them with drop-bins and freepost envelopes. They do the same for workplaces as well providing drop boxes, freepost recycling envelopes, poster and email campaigns to contribute towards protecting the environment.

Being such a giant in its games Earthmobile work with corporate companies and can arrange the collection of mobile phones, pick up a huge batch of them, check them all and then send you payment. Very useful for large companies that go through a lot of mobiles. They even go so far as to offer help and advice to anyone wanting to start their own mobile phone recycling initiative. How to use the Earthmobile site

On going to the Earthmobile site you will see it has an environmental, recycling theme going on. They have all the things you’d expect to see on a mobile phone recycling site such as a How It Works section and Why Recycle etc. They also have other part of the site that explain things in greater detail than I have shared above. You can click around and read some of the things they say about themselves and mobile phone recycling and you are welcomed to do so before you decide to sell your mobile to them.

Earthmobile have their own mobile phone finder so you can simply search for your make and model right from the homepage by either choosing a manufacturer from a drop down list or clicking on an image logo for your make of mobile. Once you’ve found your phone you can select it in the list and it will display how much they are willing to pay you for it. It goes on to display what counts for a working and what counts for an un-working phone. You can click to add it to the basket or click to add multiple phones to the basket. Once you have done so it will go in your basket on the site and you can review the sale. If you are happy with the price, you will need to enter your phones IMEI number (*#06#) and then click next step. You will simply need to register now and provide your name and address details and agree to the terms & conditions.

Simply enter the details you need to enter and click to complete the sale. You should then receive a confirmation email with instructions on how to send the phone into Earthmobile. You are advised to send it in within 14 days else it may loose the value you were offered.

I haven’t submitted a phone myself but I believe the payment option to be cheque only as their terms state so and say nothing else of any other type of payment being available.
